Keep Us Dreaming Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Keep Us Dreaming

Rest easy my children
Travel well while dreaming
Now is the time to play a game
Say a prayer before you drift away

Close your eyes, sweet babies
Hereafter begins a new break of day
An adventure to remember
Travel as far as your heart will take

Keep safe, Our children
Sweet little faces falling fast asleep
Make them a promise that young hearts need
Bring them back from a beautiful place

Children are our dreamers
Each night becomes a memory
Childhood moments are theirs to make
As they grow our hearts must break

Someday, in the wake of many mornings
Long after our hair turns a different shade
The children we have raised
Will be tending to their own heartaches

Now and forever held within our hearts
Life will continue this same way
An important impression
Will be the love we always gave

So keep us, Dreaming
Aforetime and thereafter
Lay us to rest with our memories
Always treasured; With Laughter
