Keeping You Awake? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Keeping You Awake?

Whether conscious of it,
Or not.
To easily deny and ignore,
The institutional effect...
Of its presence.
Biases exists.
Overwhelmingly accepted.
Gone unadventured.
Permitted.

Although...
The bigotry that is taught...
From those trained from birth,
Is scientific.
Perfected.
In its implementation to feed.
The many unwilling to digest,
A truth revealed that upsets.
Making this experiment,
Exceptional.
Subliminal in the way,
Its implementation sets up...
Civil unrest.

Yet...
Claimed by deceivers.
And frauding hoodwinkers all.
Not intentionally meant,
Are their misdeeds performed.
To neither offend.
Nor introduce to create,
Controversy.
Hatred, conflict and division.

'Zzzzz...'

Is my research,
Keeping you awake?

'No.
Your mouth is.'

Anyway...
Where was I?
Oh...yes.
A superiority over others,
Made to feel and believe.
Without evidence,
That documents it.
Or shown to prove,
Those picked to elect...
As having leadership abilities.
Are always discovered to be,
The ones who protest,
Against diversity.
And those diverse...
Contributing their expertise,
To a growing and healthy...
Democracy.
Done.
As if to openly invite,
Ignite and incite...
Racists.
Mentally incapable,
To acknowledge hypocrisy.
As a way of life.
With the right they have...
To entitle themselves to live.
Corrupting justice.
And allowed to create,
Lawlessness.
Blamed to accuse...
Those who have every right,
To distrust thieves.
Sitting in positions...
Making rules and laws,
To break them!

'Interesting.
Thought provoking.
And...
A cure for anyone,
Seeking a remedy...
For their sleep issues.'

You don't appreciate me at all!

'Lies!
You have saved me,
Mucho bucks.
Before you began sharing,
With me your 'research'.
I stayed up.
Looking for enemies.
Terrorists.
Until I realized...
You were talking about,
People living in this country.'
