Kept Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Kept

Kept with a keeping going on.
With it to go on.
Kept with a keeping known wrong.
Prolonged day and night.
To resist a doing right.

People?
Why is it evil most prefer?
To give and offer a taste of it.
As if enjoyed to serve.
And served up from a reserve.
And people?
Hasn't enough of it made us sick?
Have we yet not to arrive,
To recognize the absurdity of this.
Just to keep it kept.
For what purpose to achieve.
And who benefits from the effect.

People?
Why is it evil most prefer?
Served up everyday to give it.
Served up everyday to get.
Served up everyday to live it.
And craving more of it to get.

Kept!
With an evil kept to keep it.
Going on.
And kept!
With an evil kept to keep.

People?
Why does it have to be evil.
Served up everyday to live it.
Served up everyday give.
And people?
Why is this evil returned equal?
And...
Who is that benefits.
From unending evilness?

Minds seem to be turned off,
To go bonkers.
And without the crack.
Minds seem to be turned off, turned off, turned off!
Minds seem to be turned off.
To go bonkers.
And without the crack.
Minds seem to be turned off.
And kept.
To keep in an evil to leave.
To keep in an evil to leave.
To keep in an evil to leave.
