Kicking Kisses Poem by Namita Rani Panda

Kicking Kisses

Rating: 5.0

"O' my Mom! You're so uncaring and cruel,
why don't you pity me when I stumble and fall?

Look how mom Cow kisses and licks
but you give me only forceful kicks.

From a great height when I fall
you kick me again as if I'm a football.

So mercilessly you ignore my pain,
you go on kicking me again and again.

When I stand up again with a hope of greet,
with no sign of delight you seem very strict."

"O' my loving child, the pupil of my eye!
Listen to me carefully what I sincerely say.

Love is not pampering and spoiling
but teaching you the skills of surviving.

I train you never to mind how hard you fall
but pick up yourself and get ready to struggle.

If you can't rise and stand on your feet
lion or leopard will devour your meat!

To make you a worthy member of the pack
hard kicks do I kick at your tender back.

A great many fail or fall and give up
but I'm there to push you to stand up.

Unless you're kicked out of comfort zone
you'll lose battles you can win very often.

People look at you with awe and wonder
for perseverance, a baby giraffe though you're.

You can survive and succeed though life is tough,
my hard kicks will make you rough and tough."

"O' my Mom, how foolish I'm often,
your kicks show your great concern.

You did teach me a great life skill
skilled I'm to get up every time I kneel.

It doesn't matter how many times I fall
I'll pick up myself and boldly struggle."
