King Lever Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

King Lever

Past the hills of Diablo Lobo-
Across the sea of Libra
Lives a king that hates Farvardin-
The Guardian, of all four seasons

King Lever is a selfish man-
Obsessed with power over Farvardin's region
The logic in his royal head-
Could not be reached by reason

Endora was known to be a malevolent witch-
Forever banished from the monarch's Kingdom
In barter for a season curse-
His Lordship offered back her freedom

For several decades time stood still-
Nothing changed or aged a day
Assiduous cries from the kingdom people-
Brought Farvardin on his way

An earthquake began to stir the ground-
As a cold breeze blew across the land
The season curse was amended-
And Winter soon began

With Farvardin's pursuit of justice-
Endora was dispatched to face her Hell
King Lever was conveyed the curse-
Plus every year he filched as well

Now stripped of his supreme authority-
He sits there all alone
Serving ten thousand years of punishment-
Spellbound to his royal throne
