There's a sweet little kitty,
Up in a tree.
No matter how I coax it,
It won't come to me.
She's meowing away,
Simply terrified.
Holding on to the branch,
In the tree way up high.
I'll bet that she wishes,
She could come down.
But she's too afraid,
Of falling to the ground.
Maybe with a ladder,
I could reach out to her.
Cradle her in my arms,
And just hear her purr.
When she's good and hungry,
She's bound to come down.
Just inching her way,
To the milk on the ground.
