Komorebi Poem by Kelly Boutin

Komorebi

Komorebi, Komorebi

I see you when I feel alone
When I get lost in the world
I escape into the woods
and snuggle in your warmth.
The crispy leaves are my bed
I could sleep for a week or a hundred years in it

Staring at the sky
Basking in the rays
For days and days and days

Komorebi, Komorebi
The light of mine inside
Somehow hasn't died
It shines all around me here
Now my mind is clear
I feel safer than I ever have before

Once upon a lie
I almost feel for someone's eyes
But time turned me around
The forest opened up his arms
And said 'Come back to me my child'
I ran back into the light
To escape the night

Far away I've traveled on so many roads
But I walk side beside you my home away from home

Komorebi, Komorebi
Were you sent to guide the way for me?
Break through the shadows of my doubting
Ever-restless brain
The only thing that separates
Us from our dreaming state

Komorebi, Komorebi
It shines all around me here
All my thoughts are clear
I feel snuggled in the warmth
The crispy leaves are my bed
I could sleep for a week or a hundred years in it

Staring at the sky
Basking in the rays
For days and days and days
