Rating: 4.8

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Poem Hunter/L. Ferlinghetti/poems/ 26/33.
The El is an elevated railroad in New York. In a sweets shop beyond the El he first fell in love with unreality, a world of fancy and daydreams. There were jellybeans and licorice in the store and autumn leaves were falling outside.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The confectionery of ten cents beyond the El has attracted the attention of love in shopping. A cat on the counter moved among the sticks of liquorice and rolls and such act of cat amazes mind. A brilliant poem is written by L. Ferlinghetti and you have very nicely translated this with essence of the poem unaltered. This is excellent sharing done...10

Yes, there are many good points about this fantasy poem, in a particular time and place.

A shorter step to unreality from the candy shop, Michael, than from out amongst the ruing leaves. Doug
