Mi tío llegó a la muerte
con un ruido de botellas quebradas
sobre la frágil proa de su alma,
así por fin se liberó su cuerpo
desde el astillero del alcoholismo
Ya no sería
un leño inútil que se lleva el río
hacia un mar inexistente,
donde olas de vino rojo aúllan
ante un faro extinguido
Gaviotas negras le rescatan ahora
desde un mar apacible,
y su sed la calma el viento
en la soledad de su vuelo.

Uncle came to death with a noise of broken bottles and his body was finally released from the shipyard of alcoholism. This was really very thought provoking. A sensitive poem of death is wonderfully penned. May soul rest in peace! ...10
