Lady Winter - Poem by Lynzi Berner

Lady winter
finally
caught up
with me

She has laid down
a blanket
of her
white tears
masking the world
in her
chillingly
cold beauty

Snow faeries laugh
and dance
on the drifts
at us
and how we call winter
beautiful

This is
Lady winter's
way
of remembering
a love
lost
forgotten
abandoned

Each snow flake is
one more tear
that she
sheds
in her
yearly moments of
weakness

    a lovely and gentle narrative
    creating
    mystery and awe
    for this gorgeous season
    a wonderful poem
