Lake Malawi Poem by Paul Mwenelupembe

Lake Malawi

Lake, oh fresh lake of rivulets in-land sea
Resonnates screeds as it grabs this lift valley
And sails a sailing sailors of clouds to the warmheart
They are seen meteors, a mirror of marine giants
It will life a charm, charming up these resins

Lake, oh fresh lake of revulets in-land sea
Recipes for layouts of chambo resurrecting fish
To the east are the transmitted waves into sky
And refurbishes a play grounds of warmheart
With sing birds walking in three colours

Lake, oh fresh lake of revulets in-land sea
Is an oilment to beaming hope
To the south it ties its face and recedes cafes
And remits resins of still warmhearts
As it dissolves centrifugal forces in-land sea

Lake, oh fresh lake of revulets in-land sea
Down is yet gas cage, vehicles are such feeds
And leave out a calabash of the warmheart
In riches is Africa, Malawi's reigns of all lakes

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Lake Malawi is the 3rd largest lake in Africa. It is a fresh lake because it has an outlet, Shire river. This empties onto Zambezi river, up to the Indian ocean. The lake was formed due to rift valley which starts very far away to the north and ends some where in Mozambique. The lake has all marine beautiful life including the well know Chambo fish. Here in malawi, this lake is very important in many ways: a source of income and food, transportation, for irrigating crops and for Tourism purposes just to mention afew. It is also believed that there is petrolium(fossil fuel) in it, but it is not extracted yet. In short the lake has all things, the beauty and natural resources. So this poem is here to appreciate its existence and its important roles it plays to the society at large. Thanks my lake, I hope on my vacation I shall go and swim in Mangochi district(lakeshore) or in my home area thus karonga district, northern Malawi. Well done my Lake, formarly known as Lake nyasa! ! ! !
