Lamp Of The Night Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Lamp Of The Night

I noticed a rising moon today
just before darkness fell
a perfect circle in full bloom
a beacon shining on the hill.

I stood in silence for awhile
in awe and admiration
as the moon so brightly shone
with glowing scintillation.

Man has neither gift nor skill
and lacks the magic power to
ever create 'one' circle of white
to light the world's dark hour.

Guilt and shame possessed my heart
as never before had I stood
to gaze in silence at the sight of
that beautiful lunar lamp of the night.
