DAO DE JING: The Way and Virtues Classic -
Chapter 18 (When the Way's laid waste)
-- by Lao Zi (circa 600 BC - 500 BC?)
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

When the Way's laid waste, falls into Destruction,
There emerge Love, Mercy and Compassion.
When the people become Intelligent and Clever,
There will be Deceit, Hypocrisy not seen ever.
When the family's broiled in enmity,
Then there comes Filial Piety.
When in turmoil the Country's embroil'd,
There appear great Ministers loyal.

【道德經】老子
第十八章 (大道廢 有仁義)

大道廢,有仁義;智慧出,有大偽;
六親不和,有孝慈;國家昏亂,有忠臣。
