LAUGHTER
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
Peals of laughter of happiness
Am I wont to feel or make when I
Behold the dancing waves
Beating in pendulum-like motion against the shore;

Laughter brings out the beauty of the soul
And it is the vehicle humankind uses to express
The utter delight we feel
At the emotional kindling of our minds and senses;

It is true that if love makes us laugh
And this is like the merry waves that
Tell their tale of having swept away sorrow
With their warmth, symbolic or genuine,
Love speaks the language of the waves
Timeless and enjoyable and bound to the shore.
