Lawlessness Poem by Randy McClave

Lawlessness

In your name did we not prophesy
And in your works and your teachings we did magnify,
Miracles we performed to give you glory and fame
And did we not cast out demons in your name.
Yes many times we did not turn the other cheek
We ignored the hungry when food they did seek,
And those that did not work we told them to get a job
And yes many times, we sadly created a mob.
Yes we had ridiculed other religious beliefs
Even when it was your word that took away their pain and griefs,
You said live a life and with your teachings be true
We did as what we thought you commanded usto do.
I read the Bible daily and I have memorized every verse
I live in a fine house and I have money in my purse,
On judgement day my sins unto you I will confess
But, will you say, "I never knew you, you worker of lawlessness".
