Lean On Me, When The World Trembles Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Lean On Me, When The World Trembles

When the ground shifts beneath you,
when the weight of gold and empire
turns to dust in your hands,
when the river no longer whispers
your name-
lean on me.

Not all thrones are made of stone,
not all crowns are forged in fire.
Some are built in the quiet of steady arms,
in the certainty of a voice that does
not waver
even when the world crumbles.

You, who have carried nations on your back,
who have spoken and the heavens have listened,
who have fought the tide of time itself-
even you may rest.

Let the wind howl outside the marble walls,
let history write what it will,
but here, in this moment, you are not alone.
Lean on me.
