Leave Me Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Leave Me

leave me

Saw two girls
-far better than angels
-beauty toes to head
-their smiles flower

I became walking dead
-jaw fallen
-heart charcoal on fire

Sealed to top of my mouth
-was poor tongue

Was searching for photo
-to aim at camera
-take photo…

It was an advertise:
- "Turn friends to neighbours."

Though smart,
-not my kind…

For money…
For money…
For money…

"Why not do it reverse? "
-I murmured
-and girls heard
-then I dared
-they spoke, and I shared:
- "Make the neighbours friend! "

They liked it and agreed
-then asked me:
- "Are you a Christian? "

The two were missionaries
-could not hug
-we shook hands
-wanted me to become a Mormon.

I gave them my card and
-commented: "Am not worth! "

Could not and did not mean
-go further into the discussion.

Best was what I had said:
- "I am not worth! "

Soon after I was in Wynford Church
-Koreans…

"Are you a Catholic? "

Avoided discussion
-using my past knowledge
-I acted as expert
-gathered words
-on tongue as conveyer:
- "God is one to us all…
-is father and loves us …
-to parent every child
-is the same, equal…
-let us love with respect…
-in that way…
-happy will be father."

Crazy as we are
-back in car
-soliloquy…

"Brothers and sisters
-missionaries of all faiths
-Abrahamic and others
-I beg you
-Please, please
-please, please
-leave me alone
-let me have many faiths
-not bound to single one."

Please, please…
