Leaving Home Poem by Timber Koleden

Leaving Home

Rating: 5.0

The lights are dimmed with the sunset,
The windows shuttered—beds are set
The hearth is cold and cupboards bare
Perishable food left behind is rare

My bag is full of things to wear
My books are stacked inside there
Door is closed and shut up tight
My house will lie quiet many a night

On and on the road does call me
down from doorstep on a spree
To seek the warmth of family dear
Together—laughter ringing near

It's a very mundane poem, but honest, and clean. It's clean in the way that it is free from messy emotions, simply an ode to the truth, and what you meant to express. Good job! !
