Left Upon A Shore Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Left Upon A Shore

Rating: 5.0

As he lies upon a windy shore
None so far, yet far above his reach
Upward is the sky of blue
Outward is the sea

Tales of the lonely sailor
Left upon the shore
Awaits the day in dreamlike wonder
For desires now no more

Cool is the salty mist
The tears are salt within his eyes
A young man once he was
The ocean was his life

Every day he waits for her
His ship from far, His love adored
Dreaming of the days to follow
When she comes, for him once more

Davey Jones made way to all the lockers
When the time, it came
Rest old salt beneath the ocean
Return above the grave

One day an old man who was a sailor
Heard a bell come near his way
'Hurry man the sea is calm
Leave YE husk, She will not wait'

A young man who loved the ocean
Is sailing far away
His love returned, He follows the morning
Upon the gentle waves
