LEONORA 1,2,3


There 1 and 2 and 3 for Leonora,
three versions, like three versions of the Torah,
not P or D, not even J or E,
because they’re all by one source, LvB.

The Torah has two sources at least, P (Priestly) and D (Deuteronomic) , and possibly two others, J (Yahwist) and E (Elohist) . The three Leonora overtures to Beethoven’s only opera, “Fidelio, ” have a single source, Ludwig van Beethoven, LvB.
