Let Me Return To Mother Earth Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Let Me Return To Mother Earth

Comes to end when my play's last scene; when ends
My pilgrimage, its last ponderous mile,
It's time when last curtain calls in a while,
When time is it to say goodbye to friends,
And when I show up for the Judgment Day,
My flesh unto earth atoms shall when merge,
All but the subtle vestiges I purge,
My sins and saner deeds when say their say—
If I deserve a term or not in hell,
If I should suffer taste of a devil's,
But when purged I'm of all sinful evils—
Pray, spare me, howso short, from heaven's spell,
For, I'd like to return to Mother Earth,
Try and show once again my tiny worth.
