Let's Conjugate Poem by Sandra Feldman

Let's Conjugate

'I didn't know,
You didn't know,
We didn't know, '
Goes the song,
Of the political Crow,
'Never my fault
Always blame others,
That will help us Fool,
All our dumb brothers'

Despicable and Dangerous,
That's what we have,
When you conjugate ignorance,
With Political Hash!

Hi Sandra I don't know this group or their music but your comment on their words strikes me as completely right. so the second stanza had me nodding in agreement. So often in pops music I can't HEAR the words and the music itself is - not my thing. But its pervasive influence in our culture makes a serious critique like yours absolutely essential. I've been listening to four singers perform Schubert's song cycle WINTER JOURNEY, each singer, male or female, brings out different dimensions of the work. It's about unrequited love and the disappointed lover reacts self destructively, he is a terrible role model. But the real purpose of the music as in pops music is to OPEN OUR HEARTS in sympathy, and wonder, and readiness. What ever music accomplishes that for a person is the best music in the world!
