Let's Start Over Again Poem by louis rams

Let's Start Over Again

Let's start over again

When did we stop loving each other?
When did we drift apart?
When we met we had each others heart
Maybe it was the years that made us change
But we have no one else to blame.
We were young and full of life, when I asked you
To become my wife.
When you said " yes " it was such a thrill
And that feeling I remember still.
My heart filled up and I felt so alive
Knowing you'd be by my side.
I know you felt the same thing too
When I turned and looked at you.
They say love gets stronger as we age
But that's an old familiar phrase.
We have to work on it every day
So in our hearts the love will stay.
Did we stop loving each other or is it
Just a break in time, to renew what we left behind.
We must rekindle that flame to let it grow
True love to really show.

From one aficionado of love-themed poems to another, this is very good- - You nailed it. 'We have to work on it every day'......'Renew what we left behind'.... You understand the secret of love that lasts. Love's not a feeling... It's a decision, a commitment. Thank you for this.
