Through the years I've watched
A political circus
In the philippines
Played by the opposition
And the administration
I wondered what's wrong
Is it the people themselves?
The Filipinos?
Or the system that governs
This political landscape
From past to present
The same issues persisted
With Filipinos
Poverty, unemployment
Rise of criminality
The street has become
A stage for filipinos
To raise their voices
To air their long grievances
To hold their carnivals
The disunity
Among the Filipinos
Is fueled by hate
By anger and vengefulness
By spirit of vindictiveness
It is saddening
To watch on television
This wide division
Incited by politics
In the Filipinos' hearts
Only spectators
Of this political circus
Can see from both sides
The players themselves are blind
And only see from one side
In this tug-of-war
That is relentlessly done
No one ever wins
The failure or the success
Bounces back to the people
It's time to wake up
From this long lethargic state
And be free from chains
Of the past wounds and be healed
Let the Philippines soar high
Let faith heal the wounds
To build trust and loyalty
To teach forgiveness
To be use as instrument
To bring peace and harmony
