Let The Thief Enjoy A Freerun Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Let The Thief Enjoy A Freerun

When the PM announced the ‘Note Ban'
the hoarders of high value notes
rushed and bought oodles of gold
from the smiling jewelry giants.
The sand-miners and the agents of terror
and all the barons owning illegal empires
of the banned goods were the beneficiaries.
Who imagined, the man who nodded to
the robbers of public wealth to barter gold
by swiping the cards to carry out raids
after a fortnight to catch them? This isn't
the way of catching the forelock of fortune
but allowing it pass by and pursue behind it.

It is our habit to let the young boys run
and catch them the first three.
Those who ran some miles to school
were led by God to join public service.
But those who run after the willing wenches
are chopped or hanged in daylight.
The mad vehicles which run at the bikers 20
can't be at large. The CCTVs seize them.
The ambition driven batsmen who run
for the extra run are stumped out.
The cops permit the criminals take to
heels and face encounters. The providence
leads us to run around and when we
are unreined, makes us run down. It is
our custom to let the robbers run
and catch them later along with their friends.
Don't block the flow of blood; let it go free. 30
