Let us be seers of the divine presence!
What need is there to build temples,
On the earth?
When instead of the houses of God,
We turn those temples into the Houses of,
Hate and violence;
Let us build only the temples,
That are suitable for merciful and,
Gracious God!
There is no better place to be found,
Where such houses can be built,
Than the human heart;
If the Lord dwells in our house of heart,
Peace, love, and joy will abound there;
Hosts of angels and Gabriel, will come,
To our door to salute us;
How much our ‘honor' will increase,
If we establish the zikr of God within;
There is no safe sanctuary for us,
Than the House of God within;
Let God Himself be there as our Imam real,
And we His muqtadis after Him there;
Let us be His righteous subordinates, and,
Let us remember Him day and night within!
Just as for our sake He created,
The whole universe and all the things there,
Let us, for giving our thanks, establish,
His House of Worship within;
No need for superfluous rituals and,
Sacrificial offerings there;
When the heart becomes the House of God,
There will be no filth of illusion and delusion,
But the light of God and His constant zikr;
Let us keep this House of God clean,
Of anything that is unacceptable to God;
Let us adorn this House of God,
With what is pleasing to Him;
If shirk and kufr are there, Satan will abide there;
Expel your enemy from there, and install yourself there,
To decorate the House of God, with the flowers,
Of love, peace, joy, mercy, generosity, and empathy!
