Let Us Burn Them Poem by Randy McClave

Let Us Burn Them

Let's ban those dirty nasty books
Because of what they say,
No matter how beautiful the cover looks
With a middle finger let's ban them with a, 'yea! '
If the book speaks about a racist theory
Let's make sure that book is banned,
And if being gay is in the query
Let's make sure that book is canned.
If it contains any of those four letter words
Pertaining to either hate and or sex,
Especially when they call women birds
They also cause evil and seductive effects.
And if those books contain any nudity
Like in the magazines our fathers buy in the store,
And if they talk crudity
Let's ban those nasty books forever more.
If they talk about different genders
Or about different religions and or beliefs,
Let us then be the righteous and be the defenders
Those books produce only liars, cheaters and thief's.
Let our leaders decide what we can or can't read
Let them tell us what books are good or bad,
And let us let them take the young minds and let them lead
And soon, on our bookshelves we'll forget what we had.
Let's all have the need and the want and the desire
And let banning those books be our prelim,
Then let us start a hell produced fire
And like the Nazis, then let us burn all of them.
