Letting Go Poem by Samantha Rose Turner

Letting Go

Rating: 2.0

Will my smile ever fade?
Fade away in the in the heartbreak you made,
Lay awake tonight and pray,
Hoping for the newborn day.

Reveal the pain you control inside,
Let the light shimmer than die,
You pleased me once but never again,
The game is over, over for a long time.

It’s time to let go, and release it slow,
Let go of pain, and quit this game.
Forget the tears you wasted away,
Let it be his turn to stop and say,

“I’m the one whom diminished away.
I am the one who let you fade away,
don’t take me back, let the pain free you.”

For once he can be the one to cry,
Let his soul fade and die,
Leaving nothing but a sad grey sky,
To light my way far from your lie.
