TUNE: The Buddha Dancer Ci
TITLE: Dim is the Moon, bright the flowers
-by Li Yu(937-978)
-Translated by Frank C Yue
Dim is the Moon, bright the flowers,
Light mists soar at this early hour.
The Day's dawning, what a fine time
To be at her Secret Love's side!
With white socks untied,
Up the fragrant steps she does go.
In her hands she holds
Shoes embroidered with threads of gold.
In the south of the hall painted,
Her Guy she's a-meeting.
So highly excited,
Her whole body trembling;
For a while she leans on his chest stout.
It's hard like this for me to slip out -
Without much ado, love me wild,
Love me deep, love me till I die!
