Lieing To Yourself Has Been Your Enemy Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Lieing To Yourself Has Been Your Enemy

Open your windows.
Why suffocate,
Without fresh air to deeply breathe.

Why lock yourself away,
Within your walls?
And you sit in silence.
As if afraid someone will call.

What is the purpose,
Of your self inflicted distance?

'I've heard there is a truth outside I can not face.'

You can not keep yourself away,
From the embracing of it.
Blocked, locked away or with attempts to stop...
Truth does not victimize.
Lieing to yourself,
Has been your enemy.
