Life Poem by Jo Elliott

Life

What's not for you
will pass you by,
some things will make you happy,
some things will make you cry.

Whatever it is
there will be someone who shares
and when times are tough
there will be someone who cares.

Whatever emotion
you are going through
you are never alone in whatever you do.

All aspects of life is about more than one,
some share in the grief
as well as the fun.

Some are there for the happy times,
some are just there
to help you feel fine.

A few pass through
or come and go
and in their own way,
a love they will show.

These people you know
when it's time to part
and they'll always have
a special place in your heart.

The memories you keep
will help you gain
the positive thoughts to any pain.

Good memories will shine through
in the midst of time
and you'll realise
to love
is not a crime.

You'll open your heart,
you'll let others in
and then really let
your life begin.

You'll feel remorse
and learn from this
and find out
what has gone amiss.

While moving on
you'll find it easier each day
how to help yourself
on your clouded way.

Eventually,
out comes the sun
and this brings joy,
laughter and fun.

As the warmth emits
and the love shines through
you'll actually begin
to enjoy being you!

Thank you for reading 💖

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A change of mindset I think this one was written as a chink of positivity started to shine through. I started to see that there were two halves to any kind of relationship and that there was meant to be two and both were equally important. I saw a way out of the relationships I had been a part of that within them I felt unimportant, I saw what a good relationship was about. I saw that not everything is for you and sometimes when life shows you this, although there may be disappointment, it may not always be a bad thing. I had the feeling to not be a part of the relationship with my muse after 3 weeks, although I ignored what I was feeling and the next 2 and ½ years were what bought the books about. I see now that I probably wouldn't have embarked on the healing journey and written the poems I did had I not stayed in the relationship and that's always the positivity that I stand by.
