Life Carries On Poem by Della Perry

Life Carries On

Rating: 4.0

Magpies continue to chat across rooftops
Mice still hide from dug out holes
Starlings sing in noisy crowds just as they always have.
Children play and scream in excitement in the gardens
Telephones ring in the distance
Films on TV continue to be repeated
People I see continue to live, eat, drink, work, reproduce, excrete, sleep, repeat.
Think and produce
Thoughts do not stop
They roll around loosely like marbles in a tin.
The sun rises, sun sets, the moon watches.
I miss you, you are gone
But life still moves on around me.
