Life For Sale Poem by Yewande Adedokun

Life For Sale

Deep in my sleep
She woke me to my fame
You made the news she said
The news for what I asked
For taking all from the rich

I traded my fame for another deep sleep
As it is me, I forget not to dream, but I dreamt
As I see the faces of those praising me for something
They wave, I want to wave, but my hands are tied behind me
The fear beats in my chest
I realized it was a dream
I quickly want to wake
But I remember if I wake, my dream becomes me
Anyone wants a life?
Mine is for sale!
