Life's Learning Curve Poem by Laquory Jones

Life's Learning Curve

Rating: 5.0

So many thoughts begin to churn
Throughout my 28 years what have
I learned I've learned that you
Can never take anything for granted
So many seeds that I've planted
Will anyone understand my thoughts
Or my reality I just hope that
In due time people begin to
See that I was just a human being
Trying to live out my dreams
With them by my side together
Lets go for that ride
Lets go for that drink take you
Back from the brink of reality
Before all the tragedies that began
To pain you to the core all of that
Pain you seem to store but getting
Harder to ignore swim upon my shore

I remember the days of cassettes
Maxwell's This Woman's Work
I was fortunate to have you girl
I use to be your prince charming
Giving you every diamond in the
Rough every pearl that we would
Scuff never was enough the day
You left was ultra tough every
Apology love letter would always
Get rebuffed still I would claw
My way back to your heart in
The end this is what we are Cupid's
Superstars who knew that love
Could feel this raw providing
After shocks long after we're gone'

Once upon a time you were the
Shoulder that I would desperately
Cling upon (leaning on ultra strong)
Especially during those days I would
Lose my way you were the one picking
Up my faith and there's no way
I could truly thank you for them days
But some relationships are bound
To decay I still don't know what
Happened to this day just know that
I'm never too far away
Pouring my heart for you on display

I was just a kid with a brain full of madness
Gloomy days and gloomy sadness
While trying to ignite a spark within
The masses as I sat everyday through
My classes while studying poetry and
Its facets hoping to make a difference
Upon the artistry
Streamlining an industry
Heightening people's sense of being
Giving them a reason to live and feel
Good inside hoping to change some
Lives along the way across all 50 states

I hear you, young poet and feel your pain. It is so touching and so vividly explained in this excellently written poem of loss and sadness. Loving someone very much is quite dangerous because losing them is always a catastrophic possibility. But time partly heals the wounds of love torn hearts.. You must have hope and find consolation in artistic creation which is one of the best therapies.S
