I want to sleep
But I can't
For in my sleep I dream
and unlike many, I always dream.
My dreams take me back
to a world that you created with your words.
Woven together by the rhythm
of your heart on paper.
That rhythm becomes my pulse,
my life in my dreams.
And everything that you once said
is alive and well.
There is no maybe or I don't know,
Just what it was.
And when I slept in your arms,
My dreams came true.
So waking was not bad
because I knew I would see your face.
Now I want to sleep,
But I awake
only to see the wall.
