Lifeless Poem by Kennedy Nayebare

Lifeless

Would you understand...
Why it shone in the mornings and
rained late in the evenings.
Would you understand...
If birds flew as a flock and never
on their own.
Would you understand...
If I said your pale-brown eyes
filled me with hope.
Would you understand...
Why I always laughed at your
jokes even when they were stale.
Would you understand...
If I said you redefined love and
the reason for it.
Would you understand...
If I said living without you was an
impossibility.
Or would you rather understand...
If I walked away and never looked
back.
If I lost the sense....the sense of
feeling.
Or rather if i fell to my
knees....lifeless, with my heart in
my hand....reaped out...
