Lifeline Poem by Michael Smith

Lifeline

Rating: 5.0

Got a huge smile on my face.
Now that I know she's back.
And for so long I yearned for her.
But foolishly never tried to show it.
The distance, time & love we spent apart.
Can now live free.
Got a good future in my mind.
Now that I realize how much she means to me.
Reminiscing on the first time.
The very first time our lips touched.
I knew this was true love.
It couldn't have been lust.
To know she loves me too.
And that I have her trust.
I knew that keeping our love alive.
Would be an all time must.
This girl's worth the time.
Worth the thought.
Worth the dime.
Worrying were could I find, a love so kind.
Her love being so sure.
She is my lifeline.
