'' Life's A Charade '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Life's A Charade ''

Do you write for real?
About actual events,
Do you like to reveal?
What it represents,
What is the appeal,
Which then circumvents,
Around the work you've displayed.

Does the writer of fiction?
Know right from wrong,
Do they have an addiction?
To make storylines strong,
Does their work cause friction?
Are you carried along,
Do you get what they have conveyed?

The persuasive writer,
Wants you on their side,
Usually termed, a fighter,
Some reality they'll hide,
The term inciter,
Is an accurate guide,
Ver rarely, will they ever be swayed.

Narrative compositions,
Though reality based,
They are personal admissions,
Can their facts be traced?
One of many traditions,
Of a genre well placed,
Whereby who are they trying to persuade.

The everyday news,
Though it's carefully presented,
Expressing other's views,
Can be misrepresented,
Though some stories amuse,
Others are invented,
The truth some will try to evade.

You cannot comprehend,
That despite your good will,
Be it critique or commend,
There is no magic pill,
Whatever you've penned,
Being an author takes skill,
Just remember,

‘' Life's A Charade ‘'
