Life's Meaning Poem by soren Barrett

Life's Meaning

Rating: 5.0

On a punch clock that has no checkout time
On a pay phone that won't take my dime
Accelerator stuck to the floor and no brakes
Dependent on luck's give and takes
On the back of Mercury I fly with no wings
And wait to see what fortune brings
I'll soon be given a sheet of grass
Into which this mortal form will pass
To rise again, at the break of day
Becoming food for some, that will then be prey
Charon on the river styx rows, but I give no token
As the circle of life goes unbroken
