Like It Will Come To Us All Poem by Francis Duggan

Like It Will Come To Us All

Some of them have their names on a memorial wall
Death came to them like it will come to us all
But they are at peace in the earth where they lay
And life does go on in the World of today
The people they fought against they did not even know
Where heroes are made none have mercy to show
No mercy is shown to those who wish on you ill
And the soldiers in war zones always shoot to kill
In war it is kill or be killed it is always this way
Dead heroes did not march in the parade today
Some of them have their names on a memorial wall
But death came to them like it will come to us all
