Like Rain Poem by Barry Middleton

Like Rain

Rating: 5.0

when I consider every storm
and long gray days of hopelessness
then I recall how fears transform
with sunlight healing my distress

if mercy fell like rain from clouds
then faith renewed would greet the day
like flowers bursting from the earth
as love and grace baptize dismay

yet we all know the drought must come
to test the strength of love's resolve
for hopelessness is blind to grace
a sin that man cannot absolve

redemption must endure the pain
beyond the heat and fevered drought
to search the sky for hope and rain
and move ahead though filled with doubt

Thanks Nosheen. Stormy weather following a drought makes me write about hope.
