(limerick) We've A Budgie.. He's Happy And Fre

We've a budgie... he's happy and free
Not deprived but content as can be
He's a cage, it's his home
And he never does roam
Catered to...to the utmost degree

Burbling joy is his e'er present theme
And he's covered each night for a dream
He's admired. he's spoiled
His wants seldom foiled
No shackles, held high in esteem

Slic-ed bread tops his cage early morn
Fresh-weaved lettuce through bars do adorn
There is gravel on floor
Changed thrice weekly (or more)
Steady feed of his seed but no corn

With the run of our condo, although...
Front and dining room's are where you go.
Chattering endlessly
La de da.. La de dee
P'raps a bath by the mirror... what ho!

Royal's his name with a liking to preen
And his quarters are kept squeaky clean
He greets us each morn
To the manor he's born
We maintain this ideal sort of scene.

Let us end this preposterous tale
'Loss of freedom' they constantly wail
You will ne'er hear him squawk
Snapped up by a hawk
And security now may prevail

Ah, just turn him loose, Wes! Hawks need to eat, too, you know! Ha! Just kidding. Take care of that little guy. I enjoyed reading this.
