Lingering Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Lingering

Lingering ~ Waiting ~ Hanging-on.
Ready for words to write,
Will they come into a poem today?
Or ~ only once a fortnight?

Sitting in my car, wanting to drive,
Places to go and be at soon,
But words flow into my Mind,
And on paper, I must put them doon.

If I drive off ~ how far will I get
Before I have to stop to write?
One Hundred Yards, or Two Minutes in Time,
To finish, I know is right.

Why must a poem come to the fore
Of my Mind ~ at this point in time?
I was Minding my Business ~ Going my Way,
When words form in Verses and Rhyme.

Thankfully the end of this Poem is nigh,
I did not wish it to write,
But a Servant to HIM I am again,
And to do HIS Wish is always right.
