Little Songbird Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Little Songbird

Little songbird up above
Singing all the songs I love
I sit here while you sing away
Enjoying nature every day

I know you sing your song for me
Always in the same oak tree
How special life is when you sing
A song so sweet it gives me peace

One day I came and you were gone
Missing was your lovely song
So I sat each day here alone
My time to think in shadows long

Fall grew cold and snow soon came
Still I sit here everyday
A smile when I think of you
Little songbird I once knew

May, has brought the warming sun
I sit and whistle the song I love
A new sound of songbirds sings with me
Many in the old oak tree

In the midst of foliage, green
My friend came home so silently
Until the Fall, new joy they'll bring
A songbird family- In our tree
