Liverpool My City My Love Poem by Matthew Holloway

Liverpool My City My Love

I'm going home
not the town where I was born
but the place which claimed my heart
the city, the magic, the beauty Liverpool
the port of all my calling
the place I forever wish to be
the Albert Dock, River Mersey
St Georges Hall, Hope Street
the people, the music
that eternal Liverbeat
there is a soul in those streets
there is a passion a unity
though I am not born and bread
I am a Scouser at heart
home is beneath the liverbirds wings
home is where the city sings
a song I know and love
my Liverpool, my city, my love
