Living A Poetical Dream Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Living A Poetical Dream

Fulfilling the freedom of my soul while writing, living
a poetical dream entirely, having published two books of
poetry.

Dreams do come true when working hard at achieving them
even though it's taken many years, never having any
doubts that it would come about.

Tantalizing, awesome, increasing daily in proportion to
how long writing commenced each day, now sixty-six, find-
ing joy, peace and serenity having finally attained a
life-long dream.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is a summation poem: it's not like other poems which state their theme, comment on a specific subject, create a scene through imagery. For this poem you are standing AT THE STILL POINT OF THE TURNING WORLD (T. S. Eliot) , looking back at what you have completed before you move forward again writing new poems. And you assess your own productivity: some things you assess are literal accomplishments, namely, two published books, a writer's lifestyle, a unique mode of writing poems; other things are intangible but no less real: freedom of your soul, joy, peace and serenity at 66, living a poetical dream. I'm glad you stated your accomplishments so simply and directly, giving yourself proper credit, unshadowed by false modesty.
