Lone Traveler Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Lone Traveler

From where thee lie and others weep
A doorway from inside none seek
Yet here is why from here we leave
Falling into a void of endless sleep

All who pass cannot be followed
Where life lingers on, is only borrowed
A breath then nothing, Rest In Peace
What remains behind, is what they keep

Ride thy broomstick placed within thy hand
Across the sea beyond an ancient land
Past the voids of choice and endless fate
Beyond the glow of Heaven's gates

Take heed the choice of a calling followed
Look far beyond the abyss that waits
Many have come to discover no tomorrow
Caught in webs that spiders make

Death, it has led thy spirit home
Thy house, they built to fill an empty space
Yet in the silence remains eternal sorrow
For love has never found this place
