Lone Not Lonely Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Lone Not Lonely

Lone, is a rock who is never lonely
A wolf, the one who lives alone
Therein, is a life preferred in silence
No home to live is ever known

His mistress loved is never missed
Love's kiss is for goodbye
Though a loner walks alone
They must never, ever cry

Among the horde is only one
Longing for the beckon call
Rare moments once the silence breaks
Can leave a doorway for them all

In desperation that cannot wait
Time within a city they don't belong
So down the rabbit hole with a leap of faith
Into the river some will fall

Flowing in the tunnel after
Peaceful and alone
The silence sweet beneath the rafter
This moment feels like home
