Loneliness Poem by S.N. Surajbhan

Loneliness

Rating: 5.0

The wrinkles have arrived on his face and
He wears a thick glass spectacle,
Which just slips down to the tip of his nose and
The eyes just couldn't stop from blinking.
Being in the stage of second childishness,
The body becomes physically still,
But the unstable mind in senility
Just tries to roam here and there,
Searching for someone to sing the odyssey of his life.
But there's no one who would listen to him;
Is there no one independent to whom
He would be depended?
He felt it was his duty to serve
Children, not his love and affection.
The anger just became wild,
And slipped through the bottom of
His eyes and reached the floor and spread
The sorrow.

Standing near the half-opened windows and looking
To the horizon, the last mist of the passing winter
Dashed with his body and experienced his sorrow.
With nothing left for him in this world,
He just cried, "take me God, take me!
I don't want this life,
The life of a dice, which turns every time
And leaves us with the miserable situation to suffer.

I want to be free from this lingering death,
Even free from my soul, so that I could reach you,
Reach the heaven of peace,
And would start a life after life.

This beseeching made the Almighty emotional,
For which he cried and felt the curse in him;
But it was Sun that still untraveled waiting for your steps.
Unable to sense the feelings, he just looked
Back, and saw his shadow;
Even if there's no one for me, there's my shadow.

You have beautifully portrayed the plight and the misery of a lonesome old man. Thanks for sharing such a nice poem, dear poet. I wish you all the best. Searching for someone to sing the odyssey of his life. But there's no one who would listen to him; He just cried, take me God, take me! I don't want this life
