Loneliness Poem by Koffi B Sossou

Loneliness

The world is loud,
Full of a nosy crowd,
But my soul is lonely,
Seeking someone to talk to, genuinely.

Like Michael Jackson on stage,
I am exposed to thousands at a young age,
But find myself in a desert when I go home,
Not knowing who to hold in my arms in this dome,

The air becomes hot and wild,
Making me cry like an abandoned child.
The nights are thoughtful and troublesome,
With my brain awake as dark hours come.

Wandering along the lonely roads,
Deaf to the noise the world bestows.
This world is so noisy, loud, and nosy,
Yet, indifferent to the pain inside me.

All they see is the happy façade in daylight.
Oh, I am lonely,
Empty,
And hollow.
